GARY ADAMS FOUNDATION

The Gary Adams Foundation is a program that is dedicated to uplifting children within our housing community, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to thrive. Our program includes mentorship opportunities, homework assistance, a safe and engaging playground, and a community space that fosters connection and growth. By focusing on the well-being and development of children, we aim to prepare them for a successful future as adults.

PROGRAMS

MENTORSHIP & HOMEWORK HELP

Pair every child with a mentor to guide them in academics, career exploration and personal growth
Provide consistent homework help and tutoring to ensure at least 80% of children improve or maintain grade-level perfomrance
Partner with local schools and libraries to create literacy and STEM-focused afterschool programs

COMMUNITY PLAY & ACTIVITY CENTER

Maintain a safe, well-equipped playgrond and recreation area that promotes physical activty at least 3 times per week
Provide nutrition education, healthy snacks and access to mental health resources
Deliver weekly activities (art, music, team-building mindfulness) that strengthen confidence and conflict resolution skills

LIFE SKILLS WORKSHOP

Host quarterly family nights and community events to strengthen family and neighborhood bonds
Provide parents with workshops on parenting, financial literacy and wellness

COMMUNITY IMPACT

The Gary Adams Foundation uplifts children and families living in Onnie's House Village and throughout the Atlanta community by providing academic support, mentorship, recreation and pathways to future success. Children strengthen their educational foundation, gain resilience through mentorship and develop healthy lifestyles. Parents are engaged through workshops and community events, creating stable homes and stronger family bonds. Together, these efforts create a cycle of opportunity that transforms not only individual children but also their families and neighborhoods - building a healthier, safer and more connected Atlanta for generations to come.
